    DISCRETION ASSURED

[vc_row content_placement=”top”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6886″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]No one asked for this; and I am gonna share it with ya anyway in the hopes it makes you laugh.

When I am chatting with a dude on the “hookups” and they start going on and on about discretion. I 100% get it. I will do my best for sure.

Yet, this commentary runs through my head each and every time.

In all the years that I have been hooking up, and in all the places, not just destinations, not a single time has any one said to me “oh make sure you wear something nice, we are going to pop by so you can meet Aunt Mildred, before I eat your ass.”

I joke you not. Not a single time.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][adning id=”6178″][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]But what I will tell you is this. Queer folk have been hooking up and sneaking around for a long time. Straight folk have continued to do their part to make sure that Queer folk have to be clever and creative.

That being said, and like I said above, “I’ll do my best”; sometimes, you run into a neighbour or an acquaintance. Here is the secret to handling that situation.

Just act normal. They won’t notice casual confidence as much more than “an old friend”.

Besides if you look above, Mildred isn’t a spring chicken any more and needs a wee-nap after her second Mimosa.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”2″ el_width=”20″][vc_column_text el_class=””]Thank you. • WHY I WEAR PINK

    WHY I WEAR PINK

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Inspired by PINK SHIRT DAY – a gesture of kindness, students organized and all wore PINK SHIRTS to school in solidarity with one of their classmates who was bullied for wearing the colour pink.

PINK the Collection strives to take this gesture even further,  hoping to expand the visibility of other causes that often go unseen as well as to act as a reminder to spread kindness. Kindness is one size fits all.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6603″ img_size=”” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text el_class=””]

    WHAT IS PINK?

It looks rather simple really. When you look at it like that, just hanging on a hangar. Yet, hopefully over time more and more will see that there is a lot of punch in this PINK.

It all started with the colour pink. Obviously with the connection between the Queer community and the colour. Plus, I too was the kid that got beat up for wearing pink in grade school.

Fast forward to my “adult years” when all my corporate friends are dressing for “this day” and “that day” and “jeans day for this” and “green shirt for that”, I always seemed to never have the right shirt for the specific event. I wanted to “play along” even though I was not part of the corporate world. I wanted to get in on the action of coming together with a random bunch of people that all care about making a difference.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][adning id=”6178″][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]In fact, as I think about it, I can only recall once when I had a specific shirt for an event; it was a “red shirt” for Gay Days at Disney. The shirt was titled “Red is the new BLACK“.

Which was extremely clever, if I do say so. I mean we can’t deny that a certain little Netflix series with a similar moniker appeared a few years later. I digress.

I had goals I wanted to achieve with this endeavour.

    1. Sustainability – we are producing 60% more textiles today than we were 15 years ago, I wanted a garment that was going to be able to a regular piece in someone’s wardrobe, not just the fundraiser t-shirt that they pull out once a year.
    2. Recognizable – I knew that the shirt either had to speak for itself or hopefully be intriguing enough that someone would ask you the story behind the shirt.
    3. Versatility – I wanted a shirt that I could be part of my every day wear but also just as good for any event that needed a ‘pink’ shirt.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Bare with me for this random part. Here is where we get my brand of “crazy” with the “design idea” part.

Growing up, in my family meant there were obligations. Either appearances as “the family” in tow at events or we were off to volunteer somewhere; and every where we went we always had a name tag slapped on us.

I didn’t really realize, as a kid, just how much that was like putting on your “work name badge”, but, nonetheless I know it was “show time” and we were here to represent for whatever the reason was.

That is exactly what is going on here – PINK is here to represent.

Represent; a determination to stand against bullying, hate and discrimination, a promise to stand for everyone that was forced to wear a PINK TRIANGLE, a promise to remember to be kind in everything we do, a solidarity with everyone affected by breast cancer and more.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”6641″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]So there you go. That’s what’s going on here. The entire collection of PINK is here to represent.

At the heart of it; no matter which colour you wear in the PINK collection, which cause you are standing to represent for – we all need a little kindness. PINK is that reminder.

  • PINK CELEBRATES THE RAINBOW

    PINK CELEBRATES THE RAINBOW

A friend of mine had to deal with a real winner of a homophobe piping up, just to get themselves some attention; try and rile up the homos and confuse them. Unfortunately, for the “phobes” the homos are prepared and are pushing back.

So I put this collage together for Instagram; with inspiration from my PINK Project at @TURNIPTEEZ.

This collection started from a need to find the perfect Pink Shirt for Pink Shirt Day and the story hitting a very close to home for me.

So here it is – I am putting out the Rainbow Colours.

This was supposed to be the collection I wanted to celebrate this summer. The ‘Rona’ had different plans for us.

The ‘Rona’ also requires a lot more patience and kindness on our part. Especially when we are dealing with others that may be struggling around us or are working to help keep us all moving forward.

Come by and take a look. $5 from the sale of every t-shirt from the PINK collection and 10% from the sale of all other items in the PINK collection will be donated to the TREVOR PROJECT from now until 31 December 2020.

  • SQUIRT IS HELPING YOU SQUIRT EVEN MORE

SQUIRT IS HELPING YOU SQUIRT EVEN MORE

Earlier today Squirt.org told their members that new changes are coming to meet the approach of MSM (men who have sex with men) towards safer sex.

Men are having different discussions in 2019. We started having different conversations a while ago. I remember first learning about Squirt.org when I was a “wee-gay” and one thing that for sure has not changed has been the Safer Sex practice descriptions.

Don’t forget the hot hook-ups…those are still happening..

Totally not the person writing this article 😉

    Up until this change, to the best of my knowledge, the options available to you were;

    • Rather Not Say
    • Always
    • Never
    • Usually

Which, from my experiences, NEVER 100% truly explained what an individuals practices were and I bet so many men didn’t hook up because of wrong perceptions.

    What’s New?

    Now the options and their intended meaning are;

    • Condoms – You are using condoms
    • PrEP – You are using PrEP
    • PrEP and Condoms – You are using PrEP and condoms
    • TasP – Treatment as Prevention, HIV+ under treatment and Undetectable
    • TasP and Condoms – You are using Treatment as Prevention, HIV+ under treatment and Undetectable and condoms
    • Let’s Talk – You prefer to talk to your partner
    • Rather Not Say

    Where Does This Lead?

This raises so many questions in my mind about where this leads us.

Will this open more doors of communication? Will MSM start having discussions with each other or find ways to better educate themselves?

Is this a step in the right direction in finding partners that align with your “groove” or is it a way to perpetuate stigma?

    Thoughts?
